Any update on the new pattern/project? Can’t wait to start mine… If I can just finish some of my other projects first..
Since I can’t get into the new blog I just HAD to tell SOMEONE that I got my kit today and love the yarn. All the extras were a big surprise, too. Can’t wait to cast on !!! Also hoping to, one day, get into the correct blog. LOL

Hey all: this is my first year with the Club as I’m a new sock knitter who just discovered STR yarn !!! Now I’m obsessed. I’m also new to blog’s…so I hope you’ll forgive me if I do something stupid (which is bound to happen). Looking forward to receiving my first shipment ! and getting to “know” ya’ll.

Hey all, I thought you might like to see the project I am knitting using my December kit. I’ve blogged more about it here.
Blue Moon is getting the 2007 blog up and running. They’re working on getting people registered, so if you haven’t heard from them yet, give them some time (also, check your spam folder - that’s where my email was).
We will not be running this blog concurrently - the intent of this blog was to have a place that club members could go, and Blue Moon has been working hard to provide that for all of us in 2007. We’ve had a great time running this KAL, and we thank everyone for participating! We’ll leave this all up for archival purposes, and please, feel free to keep on posting while Blue Moon gets situated.
Hi All, I just wanted to let everyone know that the first shipment will be the very last week in february. It took longer to recover all the numbers and then get things in to production. We apologize!
I also want to publicly thank Kris, Scout and Miyon for all the work they did on this blog last year. It added a great deal and we all appreciate the work that goes into something like this. Thanks!!
We just started a new contest and all the details are at www.rockinsockclub.com. Hopefully this will help us get all the announcements out to everyone, even those with super duper spam filters.
rock on

First off, let me introduce myself! I’m Kelly, this is my second year in the sock club, but I only just signed up to this blog (although I’ve been lurking the whole time!)
Anyway, back to my question. I guess I’m just getting inpatient… but, is this 3rd week of Feb or is next week?
Anyone else getting eager for the new package?
Kelly
I’m so excited to be part of the 2007 KAL. I’m checking every day to see if there’s a fun message saying the kits have been mailed. To keep me busy in the meantime, I whipped up these fun socks from the STR kit. STR Mediumweight, Size 1 needles (tiny feet), and my own variation of the pattern in the Fair Isling on Blue Moon book. These were done toe-up, widdershin heel (kind of), and a picot cast off for fun.
I finished one of my Winter’s Eve socks. Check it out
I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I am so excited about the new shipment of STR and finally being able to join this blog that I have been lurking at for the last while. I loved seeing everyone’s socks - so amazing - and am so happy to finally be able to KAL with the rest of you. Like everyone else, I am on pins and needles about the first shipment and on the edge of my seat wondering what the new colorways will look like. I don’t own any STR yet, but hear that it is fabulous! I do have one question though - is it true that everyone gets a bonus skein sometime during the year? If so, when does this usually happen??
Trish
Here are a couple of works in progress using yarn from December’s package.

First up is Rare Gem using the Tvaandsstickning method described in the Jan/Feb Piecework. Slow knitting, but a great colorway.

This is Mustang Sally and it is becoming a shawl for my oldest daughter. I am using the pattern, well sort of, from Victorian Lace Today. Even though this is not really a lace pattern, once I am done I will block it to open up the stitches. I particularlly like how this yarn changes color thoughout the day. When it is on my desk, which is in front of a west facing floor to ceiling window, it is very red with purpole overtones. Tonight it looks very purple with some salmony spots that I did not even see until I started sknitting. SO nice.
The Interweave Knits ad shows four new colorways. Each has been reskeined to show the colors in a second way, so each is shown twice. The pink and brown at the top are Little Bunny Foo Foo. The red and beige are Foo Foo, the green orange and pink are Foofaraw, and the green and beige pair at the bottom are Footzey Foo. They will not actually be available for 7-10 days. Fooey!
There are some colors that look new to me in Blue Moon’s IK ad. A lot of greens, and more pink and brown. I’ve been seeing a lot of pink and brown in clothing catalogs. As always, Tina is on top of the trends. Or setting the trends? Does Johnny Boden perhaps belong to the Club?
I made Sock #2 of Titania’s Revenge in what seemed like record time…after Sock #1 required such concentration, I felt that I needed to get #2 over with quick! The socks do look nice, although I think they will be more comfortable when those k3tog’s loosen up with a washing or two!
Now on to Marble Arches. I haven’t seen that many posts here about that pattern–what did people think of it, and if you made something else with Pink Granite (which I ADORE), what pattern did you use?
Can’t wait for the first Sock Club Shipment of ‘07!

New member here - getting antsy - is there any word on when the first 2007 Sock Club Kits will start going out?? It’s not like I don’t have any socks on the needles (I do) BUT this will be my first STR so I am getting a LITTLE excited!!!
Hey all, I decided to do another pair of Cedar Creek socks in a different colorway. I like them just as much as the first! The details are on my blog.
I was ready for an intimidating knit after reading the description and some of my predecessor’s comments. Instead, I found a challenging lace pattern coupled with an interesting distraction in the form of a cable that winds its way around the foot of the sock. Here is my first half of what I think will be my current favorite footwear. More photos here.
I finally finished another pair of club socks, I think that makes 3 for the 2006 club. Oh well, I plan knit more of the patterns from last year, I just don’t know when because I get so distracted. I do love all of the yarns we got, and I’m really looking forward to seeing what we get this year! Anyway, I did the size small, and I did a star toe. I got the bead set from earthfaire.com and just strung them on randomly. I love how the cuff beading looks kind of like icicles! I can’t figure out how to get a good pic, there are a couple more on my blog.
I finished the Hippy Crunchy socks on New Year’s Eve. Just under the gun. It didn’t make for a stellar GPA, oh well. My other finished socks were Fairgrounds. I have cast on Tatiana and hope to have them done by Easter. These holiday deadlines…
After sitting on the fence until the last second, I made a commitment to another year of BlueMoon socks! Just wish I had the Golden Ticket!
I have finished my first Titania’s Revenge sock. Better late than never! I definitely found this pattern challenging, but fun. Looking at pictures of Cookie’s completed sock also helped immensely. I’m looking forward to finishing Sock #2…hope I have enough yarn!

I have just received a package of yarn from BBFA. While all the skeins in my envelope are beautiful, Fire On The Mountain is breathtaking. Quite possibly the most beautiful skein of yarn I have ever seen. I can not even imagine knitting it up. For the foreseeable future it will sit on my desk where I can stroke it and smile. Picture here.
I had the very good fortune to meet Tina and Kaci on Thursday at the Madrona Fiber Arts Festival in Tacoma, Washington. They are every single bit as wonderful in person as they are when you have contact with them via email, phone, or the blog. I was feeling sorry for myself because I hadn’t registered in time to actually get into any of the classes this weekend and made the drive down from Seattle only to see the vendors’ area. They lifted my spirits (and somehow mesmerized me into purchasing several skeins of sock yarn….). Thanks and looking forward to seeing you both again at Sock Camp.
Here’s a quick look back at 2006’s Sock Club:
This is just a thought. Maybe it’s a dumb thought. But could the Golden Ticket be in a skein of Mustang Sally that didn’t go out yet???!!! I just got a backup skein, and I’m tellin’ you wha’s fo’ a fack (as a friend of mine in Virginia used to say), I checked my label for a golden ticket!
Mustang Sally is much more subtle in Seduction.
i have finished another pair of str sock club socks - the beautiful, wonderful, fantabulous marble arches. my gpa is rising, and with the extracurricular activities the prof and i have discussed, it is altogether possible that i may just not fail out of the program. my blog-mate, neuroknitter, is really the shining star of the class; she received a 4.0 before the year ended. me? just plugging along to get all of those projects done. more on my progress on our blog, www.weheartyarn.com.
for now, i leave you with a photo of…
MARBLE ARCHES!!!

(ummm, i don’t think my photo came through. the sock is on my blog, if you are interested in viewing it. i uploaded the photo, and even dragged it into the body of this post, but…)
I’m going and I am sooo excited. Booked my room and flight!-Carla
So I wonder if sock camp has filled? Who all is going? I put in my deposit and reserved my room, but am waiting to see if my friend ends up going before I book my flight. I’m hoping she can go, but she is a new 2007 member. When will we know if camp is full and if/when the new members may sign up? Anyone recall?
Hi I was wondering if someone could help me with my dilemma. I used to be able to access the old site, indeed I signed up for the sock club from that. Since the New Year I have been unable to access it from home. I can look at work but have no time to ‘look’ IYKWIM.
I have tried different browsers, Firefox, Opera, Netscape and IE 7. I have tried with and without a Firewall, albeit momentarily. I saw a fix on a pc forum and tried clearing the cache from the Command prompt programme and then amending the registry to set the cache value to negative. None of the suggested solutions so far have worked. I’m using windows xp and accessing the internet via a 512mb dsl connection, no proxy.
I so would like to ‘browse’ one of my favourite sites. Any ideas? please?
Did you notice that if you click on a color, the new yarns are listed as well. I would really like to order some of the ones I haven’t seen in person, but I am trying to knit from stash right now except for sock yarns. I say “trying” because I did order that Seduction yesterday, and while I knitted my mother’s Christmas socks in Seduction, I wasn’t thinking socks when I ordered it.
